KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.—In the regular-season finale for both teams, a first-half goal by
Radcliffe McDougald (Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island H.S.) lifted Concordia to a 1-0 win at Oregon Tech on Saturday.
With the win, Concordia closed out the regular season with a 14-4-0 overall record and an 11-3-0 mark in Cascade Collegiate Conference action. Oregon Tech ends its season with a 5-13-0 record and 4-12-0 in league contests.
Concordia will now prepare for the semifinals of the CCC Championship presented by U.S. Bank when it travels to face Northwest University on Nov. 12 in a matchup of the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds. Both teams finished with identical 11-3-0, but Northwest earned the tiebreaker after posting two wins against the Cavs this season.
Corban (14-1-2, 11-1-2 CCC) finished as the regular-season champion and will host either College of Idaho or Evergreen in the second semifinal.
Concordia tallied 19 shots in the contest but connected on just one occasion, a 33rd-minute strike by McDougald. McDougald collected a deflection off OIT keeper Loren Jessen and easily put in the eventual game-winner from five yards out.
CU senior
Scott Gross (Gladstone, Ore./Gladstone H.S.) tallied five saves to complete the shutout win, the team's ninth of the season.
