KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest University's (RV) Ryan McIntosh and Michael Russo combined for 42 points as the Eagles upset No. 20 ranked College of Idaho 83-77 tonight to open CCC play.

The 42-36 halftime lead by Northwest turned out to be all the Eagles needed for the win as the two teams battled to a 41-41 draw in the second period. NU would lead most of the first half, but C of I would take a 2 point lead with 6:41 to go in the period on an Emanuel Morgan 3-pointer.  Michael Russo would answer with a three and Sydney Donaldson would get to the basket for two to give the lead back to C of I, 34-33. Northwest would outscore the Yotes 9-3, to take a 42-36 lead into halftime.

With NU leading 48-44 at the 16:55 mark, the College of Idaho would go on a 12-2 run to take a 56-50 at the 12:24 mark after two Donaldson free throws. Then it would be the Eagles outscoring the Yotes 22-6 over the next 6 minutes to lead by 10, 72-62. C of I would pick up their pressure on defense, but NU would go 4 for 4 down the stretch to hold on for their first CCC win of the young season.

In addition to McIntosh's 20 and Russo's 22, Northwest (9-2, 1-0 CCC) got 14 points from Nemanja Grujicic and 10 points from Michael Greene. The Eagles shot 49% for the game hitting 31 of 63 shots and dropped in 50% of their 3-point attempts in the second half.
