Danciu Repeats as NAIA All-American
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Setting the school record for most career goals, senior
Septi Danciu (Bristita, Romania/Evergreen H.S.) was selected as an NAIA Second-Team All-American for the second straight year, the national office announced on Monday.
Danciu, a 5-foot-9 senior forward, led every major statistical category this season in the CCC. The Bristita, Romania native scored 16 goals and tallied 13 assists, for a total 45 points. Of his 16 goals in 2013, eight were eventual game-winners. He was also responsible for scoring four penalty kick goals; tops in the CCC. Danciu finished his career with 54 career goals as a Cavalier.
Rocky Mountain (Mont.) senior forward Oliver Gore, a Stafford, England, native, was selected as the 2013 Select Sport America-NAIA National Player of the Year. Gore is the first Battlin' Bear to earn the honor since the award's inception in 1997.
MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) and Oklahoma Wesleyan were the only programs to land multiple players on the first team.
The 2013 Select Sport America-NAIA National Coach of the Year will be announced at the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America (NSCAA) National Convention, held in Philadelphia, Pa., from Jan. 15-19, 2014.
