Strong Second Half Earns Geoducks Victory

KIRKLAND, Wash. – After trailing 28-26 in the first half, Evergreen came back with a strong second half to defeat Northwest University 55-47 tonight in the final regular season game for both teams. It was also the final game for Northwest head coach Lori Napier who is stepping down after ten seasons with the Eagles.
 
Northwest (2-23, 1-17 CCC) was led by Alyssa Dario’s game high 15 points. Sanda Milovic dropped in 11 points and guard Domi Mendezona scored 10 points for the Eagles who managed 28% shooting for the contest. NU went 3 for 16 from the 3 point line for 19%.
 
Danielle Swain led Evergreen (7-15, 6-12 CCC) with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Sammi Clark and Jessica Denmon would score 10 points each. Denmon added 10 rebounds for another ESC double-double. Evergreen shot 35% for the game including 39% (7-18) from beyond the 3 point arc. Evergreen had a huge advantage on the rebounding with a 45-34 margin.
 
Northwest completes their season while Evergreen advances to the first round of the Cascade Conference post season tournament.
