NU's Greene Reaches 1,000 Career Point Mark
KIRKLAND, Wash. - Northwest University's 6-5 junior, Michael Greene of Bellingham, Wash., broke the 1,000 career point barrier on February 2, 2013 when the Eagles traveled to Portland, Oregon to play Warner Pacific. He scored 12 points in the 75-72 loss to the Knights and it was his eighth point of the game that equaled the 1,000 point mark. His 13 points in the Eagle quarterfinal win over the College of Idaho on Wednesday night gives him 1,066 points and along with his 11 rebounds, it was his 13th double-double of the year.
Greene is not far away from NU Hall of Famer Dennis LaMance who's in 4th place in NU career scoring with 1,278 points (1968-71). Former Eagle and NAIA All-American, Aaron Sawyer, tops the career scoring record books with 2,074 points (2003-07).
He also has 583 career rebounds, but he is still well behind the two top career rebounders, Wes Davis and Aaron Sawyer who are tied with 972 rebounds each, but don't be surprised if Greene catches them next season.
