Sixteen CCC Women's Basketball Players Named NAIA Scholar Athletes
SIOUX CITY, Iowa - The NAIA has announced that 178 Division II Women's Basketball student-athletes have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Davenport (Mich.), Morningside (Iowa), Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), Rochester (Mich.), Saint Mary (Kan.) and Tennessee Wesleyan tied for the lead amongst all institutions with five honorees.
The Cascade Conference boasted 16 total honorees with NCU leading the way with four, followed by EOU with three. C of I, OIT and WPC each had two representatives while CU, Corban and SOU each had one.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
