Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
The following CCC and NAIA West student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of March 11-17.
James Jensen
Baseball- Pitcher
Menlo‘s James Jensen has been chosen the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week for March 11-17.
Jensen, a senior from Castro Valley, CA., threw eight innings against NAIA West opponent Simpson in the 24-0 victory for the Oaks.
Jensen threw 9 strikeouts and recorded an ERA of 1.13

Brady Steiger
Baseball- Player
Lewis-Clark State’s Brady Steiger has been chosen the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week for March 11-17.
Steiger, a junior from Port Orchard, WA., help lead the Warriors to a four game sweep of Oregon Tech in the NAIA West matchup.
Steiger was 12-for-16 at the plate, which included seven extra base hits lifting his team-leading batting average to .482 and improving LCSC’s record to 20-5 overall.

Willy Irwin
Men’s Outdoor- Field
Concordia’s Willy Irwin has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for March 11-17.
Irwin, a sophomore from Clovis, CA., posted the NAIA's top mark in two events while competing at the Linfield Wildcat Open.
Irwin unleashed a 60-0 1/4 (18.29m) effort to win the shot put by more than 15 feet. In the discus, Irwin tossed a 171-5 (52.56m) winning the event by almost 20 feet.

Ryan Booth
Men’s Outdoor-Track
Eastern Oregon’s Ryan Booth has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for March 11-17.
Booth, a senior from Post Falls, Idaho won the 800m with a time of 1.52.08 and the annual EOU Blue-Gold meet.
His time was an NAIA automatic qualifier and is the # 1 mark in the NAIA.

Taylor Schmidt
Softball- Pitcher
Oregon Tech’s Taylor Schmidt has been chosen the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week for March 11-17.
Schmidt, a senior from Medford Ore., picked up three wins Owls allowing only 2 runs over 17 innings, striking out 12.
Schmidt is now 14-1 on the season leading Oregon Tech to a (23-5, 7-1 CCC) start.

Stephanie Nippert
Softball- Player
Corban’s Stephanie Nippert has been chosen the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week for March 11-17.
Nippert, a senior from Rocklin, CA., registering a combined six hits in nine at-bats, while scoring eight runs and collecting eight RBI’s.
Nippert, who leads the NAIA in total home runs, hit four round-trippers that included a game-winner against C of I leading Corban to a 7-1 CCC record and tie for first place.

Sharayah Kenady
Women’s Outdoor-Field
Concordia’s Sharayah Kenady has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for March 11-17.
Kenady, a senior from Salem, Ore., placed first in the hammer at the Linfield Wildcat Open uncorking a school record 197-10 (60.31m) toss in the hammer throw for the NAIA's No. 2 distance.

Alexandra Rudd
Women’s Outdoor- Track
Southern Oregon’s Alexandra Rudd has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for March 11-17.
Rudd, a junior from North Bend, Ore., took fourth place honors in the 5000 meter race at Sacramento State Invite.
Her time of 17:48:07 is an NAIA provisional qualifying time.
