The following CCC and NAIA West student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of March 25-31.
 
Men’s Outdoor- Field
 
The College of Idaho’s Austin Basterrechea has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Basterrechea, a junior from Gooding, Idaho, Broke C of I's school record in the decathlon with 6742 points, competing at the Cal Multi’s which included primarily NCAA D-I competition. The mark is the best in the NAIA thus far this season.

Men’s Outdoor-Track
 
The College of Idaho’s Greg Montgomery has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Montgomery, a senior from Boise, Idaho, hit NAIA "A" standards in the 5000 and 1500 meter races.  He broke the COI school record in the 5000 meters at the SFSU Distance Carnival, followed by a win in a deep field in the 1500 meters at the Chabot Relays.

Women’s Outdoor-Field
 
Oregon Tech’s Joelle Swanson has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Swanson, a sophomore from Grants Pass, Ore., Swanson placed 4th in the Javelin at the Stanford Invitation hitting an NAIA "A" qualifying mark with a toss of 42.42 m.
 
Swanson was the only NAIA athlete to compete in the event of 29 entries.

Women’s Outdoor- Track
 
The College of Idaho’s Hillary Holt has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Holt, a junior from Meridian, Idaho, set two school records competing at the Stanford Invitational. She recorded the fastest time in the "B" flights of the 1,500 at 4:18:82 eclipsing the previous fastest time in the NAIA by nearly 19 seconds.  Holt also recorded the fastest time in the flights of the 800-meters with a time of 2:09:37.

Softball- Pitcher
 
Corban’s Amy Greenough has been chosen the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Greenough, a senior from Portland Ore., went a perfect 2-0 in wins over Puget Sound and British Columbia.
 
 Greenough allowed only a combined four earned runs on nine hits in 11.0 innings of work and led the Warriors' pitching staff with seven strikeouts.

Softball- Player
 
Corban’s Stephanie Nippert has been chosen the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Nippert, a senior from Rocklin, CA., led Corban with 12 hits, 11 runs, four home runs, and 16 runs batted in, as the Warriors registered five win in eight road games.
 
 Nippert hit home runs Nos. 69, 70, 71, and 72, to become only the second player in NAIA history to hit 70-or-more home runs in a career.
 
Nippert also moved within four home runs of tying the NAIA's all-time mark and pulled within two home runs of breaking the record for career home runs by a four-year player in the state of Oregon.

Baseball- Pitcher
 
Lewis-Clark State’s Steve Thompson has been chosen the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Thompson, a junior from San Jose, Calif., Held College of Idaho to three hits over seven innings and struck out nine in the Warriors victory  dropping  his ERA to 1.31 in 41.1 innings pitched.

Baseball- Player
 
University of British Columbia’s Tyson Popoff  has been chosen the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Popoff, a junior from Richmond, B.C. ,led UBC to a 3-1 record against West Grouping foe Simpson. Popoff went 9-18 from the plate with 7 RBI’s. His hits included two double baggers and a home-run.

Men’s Golf
 
Concordia’s Cody Johnson has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Johnson, a sophomore from Las Vegas, NV., led Concordia with a tie for ninth place at the Battle of Primm. Johnson fired a 1-under 215 to crack the top 10 out of 70 individuals. He helped Concordia to an 8th-place finish where they defeated three top-25 ranked teams.

Women’s Golf
 
Concordia’s Jennifer Gibbons has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week for March 25-31.
 
Gibbon’s, a freshman from Mollala, Ore., placed ninth overall out of 46 individuals at the Battle at Primm. Gibbons carded an 11-over 155 while leading Concordia to a 5th-place team finish
