Former Capital High School all-state forward Sadie Pilgeram has signed a CCC Letter of Intent to play for Corban next season, as she becomes head coach Dave Bale's first recruit since he returned to lead the Warriors.
Corban's Bale Signs All-State Player from Montana for 2013-14 Season
SALEM, Ore. – Corban University head women's basketball coach <strong>Dave Bale</strong> announced Tuesday that he has signed Capital High School senior and 1st team all-state member <strong>Sadie Pilgeram</strong> <em>(Helena, Mt.)</em> to a Cascade Collegiate Conference Letter of Intent for the 2013-14 season.<br />

“I am really excited about Sadie selecting Corban University and our women's basketball program,” said Bale.<br />

As a senior, Pilgeram led the team in scoring with an average of 9.8 points per game. Pilgeram also finished second on the team in assists (100) and third in rebounds (116), while helping lead the Bruins to a runner-up finish in the AA state tournament. The 5-foot-11 forward helped Capital put together a win-loss record of 21-3 last season that included a 10-2 mark in conference play.<br />

In her final season at Capital, Pilgeram led the state in three-pointers made with 43 and finished third in assists per game with an average of 4.2 per contest. Pilgeram also ranked 14th in scoring, while sitting inside the Top 20 in rebounding among all AA players in the state of Montana.<br />

Due to her play as a senior, Pilgeram was named 1st team All-Western Conference and 1st team all-state.<br />

“Sadie is an excellent student, a great person, and an accomplished basketball player,” commented Bale. “Her game is very well-balanced and two of those areas are her abilities to “make” the three and get the ball to the right person, at the right time! The Corban fans will really like her game!”<br />

As a junior, Pilgeram led the team in total assists with 72 and an average of 3.4 per game. She also finished third in total rebounds (87) and rebounds per game (4.1), while closing out the season fifth on the team in scoring with an average of 5.7 points per game.<br />
<br />
In 45 games over two seasons as a Bruin, Pilgeram combined for 354 points (avg. 7.9), 203 rebounds (avg. 4.5), 172 assists (avg. 3.8), 72 steals (avg. 1.6), and seven blocked shots. Pilgeram made a combined 122 field goals, 61 three-point field goals, and 49 free throws during her career.<br />

Pilgeram will join fellow recruits Emily Drivsten, Keahna Clark, and Mattea Cooper on next year's team that features the return of 13 players from last season's roster.<br />

Corban is scheduled to begin the 2013-14 season on November 8th in an exhibition game versus NCAA Division I member Oregon State beginning at 7:00 p.m. inside Gill Coliseum in Corvallis.
