The following CCC and NAIA West student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of April 1-7.
 
Men’s Outdoor- Field
 
Concordia’s Willy Irwin has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for April 1-7.
 
Irwin, a junior from Clovis, Calif., broke a 45-year old shot put record at the Willamette Invitational with a toss of 62-8 (19.10m) to topple the 1968 former stadium record held by Ken Patera (Portland Track Club).
 
The distance is the best NAIA shot put throw this year by over two feet.  Irwin also upped his season best in the discus with a 180-11 (55.14m) effort, a mark that rests No. 2 on the NAIA performance list.

Men’s Outdoor-Track
 
The Evergreen State College’s Wes Jones has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for April 1-7.
 
Jones, a sophomore from Tacoma, WA., placed first in the 800-meter run at the JD Shotwell Invitational, defeating a number of NCAA DII athletes. His time of 1:58.33 was the best of 27 entries.

Women’s Outdoor-Field
 
Concordia’s Gabriella Dixson has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week for April 1-7.
 
Dixson, a senior from Battle Ground, WA., posted season-bests marks in three different throwing events at the Willamette Invitational. Dixson, won both the shot at 48-4 3/4, (14.75m) and the discus 160-11, (49.04m)  while taking third in the hammer with a toss of 178-5, (54.39m).
 
All three throws are season-bests marks and Dixson currently holds the NAIA's No. 1 mark in the discus, the No.2 mark in the shot put and No. 4 mark in the hammer.

Women’s Outdoor- Track
 
The College of Idaho’s Hillary Holt has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for March April 1-7.
 
Holt, a junior from Meridian, Idaho, recorded the fastest time in the NAIA in the 800-meters, breaking her own school record by nearly 2 seconds with a time of 2:07.62 at the Idaho Cup.
 
 Holt also ran a leg on the Yotes 4x400-relay, breaking the school record and hitting an NAIA  "A" standard.

Softball- Pitcher
 
Southern Oregon’s Sydney White has been chosen the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week for April 1-7.
 
White, a freshman from Clovis, Calif., pitched three consecutive complete-game two-hitters, against The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon while allowing only a combined three earned runs helping SOU to a split in each CCC series.

Softball- Player
 
Oregon Tech’s Shauna Collins has been chosen the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week for April 1-7.
 
Collins, a junior from Roseburg, Ore., helped the Owls to a weekend sweep of The College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon. Collins went 7 of 14 from the plate and drove in four runs including a two-run home run that tied the game against C of I in the 6th inning.
 
Collins is now hitting .448 in CCC Play and leads the NAIA in assists with 103.

Baseball- Pitcher
 
Oregon Tech’s Talon Sisley has been chosen the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week for April 1-7.
 
Sisley, a junior from Covington, WA., went eight strong innings allowing only one unearned run in a victory over the College of Idaho in a key NAIA West Grouping match-up.
 
Honorable mention:  Derek Martinez, Menlo, Alex Bos, CU
 
Baseball- Player
 
Menlo College’s Jimmy Bosco  has been chosen the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week for April 1-7.
 
Bosco, a junior from Granite Bay, Calif., finished the weekend with seven hits, 11 runs, 12 RBI's, six walks, four home runs, a stolen base and two outfield assists.
 
 Bosco holds a .455 batting average and is currently ranked first in the country in home runs, slugging percentage, and total bases, and is in the top five in RBI's.

Men’s Golf
 
Concordia’s Jed Dalton has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week for March April 1-7.
 
Dalton, a senior from Seattle, WA., won the Concordia Classic by two strokes after carding a 4-under 68 on the final round of play last week.
 
 The result was Dalton's 6th top-4 finish in eight tournaments this year.
 
Honorable mention: Tyler Faulk, NCU
 
Women’s Golf
 
Northwest Christian’s Sarah Crofcheck has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week for April 1-7.
 
Crofcheck, a senior  from Prineville, Ore., won the Concordia Classic by two strokes tying a career-low with her 76 in round 3 earning her first career medal.
