WILDER, Idaho – College of Idaho’s Trish Gibbens went wire-to-wire to win her fifth career Cascade Conference event, but Concordia University rallied for a one-stroke team victory at The C of I Invitational at River Bend Golf Course.

Trailing by four strokes heading into the final 18, the Cavaliers shot at tournament low 332 to finish with a team-score of 1,035 on the windswept track – recording their sixth-straight C of I Invite title.  The C of I recorded their best round of the tournament in today’s finale (337), but could not hold off No. 23 ranked CU.

Gibbens won her first league tourney of the year with a 54-hole total of 238, holding off Cavalier Sunny Powers by four strokes.  The senior held an eight-stroke lead after seven holes, but Powers shaved six strokes off the lead in the next four holes, but Gibbens played one-over par the rest of the way, carding a 78, to earn the victory.

Rocky Mountain placed third overall – 18 strokes behind CU, as the No. 21 ranked Bears were paced Katy Peterson (254), who finished 16-strokes behind the leader.  Northwest Christian placed fourth (1096), thanks to a tenth-place finish from Haley Partridge (263), with Warner Pacific in fifth, with Scotti Jo Helmick placing fifth over (257), and Corban University in sixth (1120) – led by Hillary Seabrook in 23rd (276).
