Oregon Tech Trio Sign to Play Summer Baseball for Wood Bat League

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. –  The Klamath Falls Gems announced recently that three players from the Oregon Tech 2013 baseball squad will be on the Gems opening day roster when West Coast League play opens this week.

All-conference first baseman Dylan Rogers is signed to a full-season contract, while both infielder Tyson Dahl and outfielder Spencer Reed will play for the Gems on a 10-day contract.

Rogers, a left handed junior for the Owls, led Tech with a .366 batting average to go with a team-high .524 slugging percentage.  The 6-2 first baseman from Las Vegas, Nev. also led the team in hits (83), RBI (52), runs (37) and homeruns with six.   

Dahl (Winston, Ore.), a 5-10 sophomore for Tech, batted .271 while the starting shortstop made all 56 starts this season for the Owls.  Dahl accrued 59 hits, including eight doubles and 22 RBI while leading the team with three triples. 

Reed, a 6-0 left hand hitting outfielder, batted .303 appearing in 49 contests for Tech this season.  Reed (Spring Valley, Calif.) concluded the season with 23 RBI to go with 10 doubles.

The Gems, who play a pair of nonleague games this weekend - in Medford Friday and at Kiger Stadium on Saturday versus the Medford Rouges, begin WCL action on June 8th.

The Klamath Falls Gems are members of the West Coast League. The eleven-team, professional style wood-bat league features pro prospects from major conferences across the country. More than 120 WCL alums played affiliated professional baseball last season, and 20 ex-WCL stars played in the Major Leagues last season.
