SPOKANE, Wash. - Warner Pacific opened the 2013 season on the wrong end of a 3-1 score versus Montana State-Northern in the first of six weekend matches at the Red Lion CCC/Frontier Challenge today inside the HUB.

The Knights pounded out four more kills than the Skylights (50 to 46), but were hampered by 13 service errors and 27 hitting errors.

WP took set one by the score of 26-24 thanks to 16 team kills versus just three errors. Rachel Warick closed out the frame with back-to-back kills. MSUN capitalized on inconsistent play from the Knights and rallied to win the next three sets with scores of 25-22, 25-15, and 25-20

Newcomer Julia Toscano started her career as a Knight with a team high 16 kills and a .316 hitting percentage. Mikaela Lisoski added 12 kills, while Kelsey Merritt contributed 24 digs in her WPC debut.

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Knight volleyball team faded late in a 3-0 sweep at the hands of #25 Carroll College today in the second game at the Red Lion CCC/Frontier Challenge.

WPC could not find much success on the attack versus the Saints, scoring 23 kills but also 23 errors. On the other hand, Carroll swung for a .308 hitting percentage and made just eight attacking errors.

Julia Toscano led the way again for the Knights with eight kills, while Nicole Lisoski and Mikaela Lisoski added five kills each.

Warner Pacific returns to action tomorrow with two more matches during day two of the Red Lion Challenge. The Knights face Rocky Mountain at 2pm, and Great Falls at 6pm.
