The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period August 19-25.

Jacob Weaver

Men’s Soccer-Offensive

Northwest’s Jacob Weaver, a freshman, from Spokane Wash., has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

Weaver, playing in his first two collegiate games, came off the bench against San Diego Christian to tie the game with his first goal and then scored the game winner in overtime.

 

Weaver also had an assist in Wednesday's close loss to Biola.

Leia Roy
Volleyball- Defensive

 Northwest’s Leia Roy, a freshman from Puyallup, Wash. has been named the Red Lion Defensive Player of the Week.

 

Roy amassed153 digs in her first six collegiate matches at the Red Lion Cascade/Frontier Challenge to lead the NAIA in total digs. Her 5.88 per game average is 6th in the nation.

 

Roy tallied a career high 39 digs against Rocky Mountain College in helping her team to a 3-3 record and upsetting No. 25 Carroll College.

Stefani Sorensen
Volleyball- Offensive

 Stefani Sorensen a junior from Camas, Wash. has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.

 

Sorensen led the Mountaineers to a 5-1 record at the Red Lion Cascade/Frontier Challenge recording eighty-seven kills. The mark is second in the NAIA and matched her career high with twenty-one kills against Rocky Mountain College. In addition, Sorensen recorded a career match high 7 assists against MSU-Northern.

Kylie Moltzen
Women’s Soccer- Defensive

 Southern Oregon’s Kylie Moltzen, a freshman from Fremont, Calif., has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

 

Moltzen, a goalkeeper, was credited with a shutout in her collegiate debut. She also had four saves in the 7-0 victory over Holy Names.

Sydney Paulson
Women’s Soccer- Offensive

Southern Oregon’s Sydney Paulson, a senior from Loveland, Colo., has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.

 

After only scoring four goals all of the 2012 season, Paulson exploded for three goals in SOU’s victory over Holy Names.

 

Her three goals were part of a 7-0 day for the Raiders as they start the 2013 season 1-0.
