SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A second-half equalizer sent the Southern Oregon University women’s soccer team to overtime for the second time this season, but it wasn’t enough Thursday in a 2-1 loss to The Master’s College.

Jessica Long lofted the game-winner over the outstretched arms of SOU goalkeeper Kylie Moltzen from straight on with 2 minutes, 10 seconds remaining in the first extra period, running the 21st-ranked Mustangs’ record to 7-0-0.

The loss ended a program-record unbeaten streak of seven matches for the Raiders (2-1-1) dating back to last year. They’ll finish up their road trip Saturday at No. 9 Westmont in Santa Barbara, Calif.

SOU’s Sydney Paulsen set up freshman Caylin Jackson for her first career goal to tie the match in the 87th minute. Jackson became the ninth different Raider to get on the board this season.

The Master’s went ahead in the 14th minute when Tara Struiksma found Natasha Coyle for a header. Jordan Benson was credited with the assist of Long’s goal.

Moltzen finished the match with nine saves as the Mustangs outshot the Raiders 20-6. Jackson had two of those shots off the bench, as did Chloe Welch.
