CALDWELL, Idaho - Led by a trio of NAIA All-Americans in the top-five positions, the second-ranked College of Idaho women's cross country team rolled to a victory at the fifth Coyote Twilight, this evening at Brothers Park.
Hillary Holt won her school-record seventh-straight individual title, completing the 5,000-meter circuit in a time of 18:31. Racing in winds of 15-25 miles per hour, Holt and teammate Sarah Johnson (18:47) ran together for the first 3,000-meters, before the defending NAIA champ made a move - with Johnson earning the silver medal. Sora Klopfenstein capped the big day for the Yotes, placing fifth (19:14).
The win for the C of I marked the fourth-straight Coyote Twilight that the Lady Yotes have won.
Northwest Christian, ranked No. 11 in the most recent NAIA Top-25, ran outstanding - as their scoring quintet had a mere 36 second running gap. Both Sierra Brown (19:20) and Allison Duvenez (19:22) placed in the Top-10 - but the Beacons fell to the host Coyotes in the team race by a 27-48 margin.
Northwest Nazarene was a distant third, led by Natalie Evans (19:22) who placed eighth, followed by Corban and Concordia.
