The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period September 16-22.
 
Women’s Cross Country
 
College of Idaho’s Hillary Holt has been named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the week.
 
Holt, a senior from Meridian, Idaho, won her 7th-straight cross country race in howling winds, dating back to 2012, crushing the field at the Coyote Twilight - which featured 7 CCC teams (including #11 NCU).
 
Honorable mention: Cia Bywater, CU
 
Men’s Cross Country
 
Oregon Tech’s Paul Adams has been named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the week.
 
Adams, a sophomore from Klamath Falls, Ore.,  won his second race of the young season with a victory in the Coyote Twilight invitational cross country meet at Brothers Park. His efforts helped the Hustlin' Owls to a third place team finish behind Eastern Oregon and Northwest Christian. Adams covered the men's 8.000-meter course in 25 minutes, 57 seconds.

Women’s Soccer- Defensive
 
Concordia’s Samantha Johnson has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Johnson, a senior from Hailey, Idaho, has been the primary cog in the CU defense that pitched its fifth and sixth shutouts of the season last week. With Johnson coordinating the back lie, CU has allowed just three goals in eight matches for a 0.36 goals against average. In 180 minutes of action last week, the CU defense allowed just six total shots, only two of which were considered on frame.

Women’s Soccer- Offensive
 
Corban’s Emily Boudreau has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Boudreau, a senior from Emerald Hills, Calif., scored two goals, including the game-winner, against Trinity Lutheran and picked up an assist against both TLC and Northwest Christian this week. The fourth-year Warrior is tied for the team lead in assists this season with five, while sitting second in goals (2) and points (9).
 
Honorable mention: Rachel Saleen, NU; Hannah Scott, CU
 
Men’s Soccer-Offensive
 
Northwest’s Josh Guerrero has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Guerrero, a junior from Orlando, Fla., scored the game winner in both NU wins this week. His first goal against No. 12 Concordia gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead which was short lived. He then scored the game winner in the 82nd minute with the score tied at 2-2. His 2nd half goal against C of I on Saturday proved to be the game winner as the Yote second half comeback came up short.

Men’s Soccer-Defensive
 
Northwest’s Alex Taylor has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Taylor, a senior from Mill Creek, Wash., was a key defensive player in both victories for the Eagles. Held one of Concordia's scoring and shot leaders, Septi Danciu, to just two shots for the game. His solid defense in the middle against C of I was a contributing factor to limiting the Yotes to one goal which came in the 84th minute.

Volleyball- Offensive
 
Eastern Oregon’s Casey Loper has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Loper, a junior from Powell Butte, Ore., led the Mountaineers to a 2-0 week last week. She led the teams in kills in both games averaging 13 kills per match. Along with leading the team, Loper recorded hitting percentages of .571 against NCU and .440 against Corban. Loper is tied for the team lead with 198 kills on the season. Loper is 15th in the NAIA with a hitting percentage of .374 for the season. EOU is on a season high nine game-winning-streak and has won 20 straight sets. The last set the Mountaineers have lost was on Aug. 31st to Embry-Riddle.

Volleyball- Defensive
 
College of Idaho’s Liz Meyers has been named the Red Lion Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Myers, a senior from Middleton, Idaho, became the first player in the storied C of I program to record back-to-back double-doubles involving blocks...was dominant at the net in the road wins at Corban and NCU
 
Honorable mention: Mariah Raudsepp, CU
 
Women’s Golf
 
College of Idaho’s Baylee Borchers has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Borchers, a senior from Meridian, Idaho, earned her second medalist honors of the 2013 season, going wire-to-wire to win the OIT Invitational...shot the lowest round of the tournament with a final round 73 - equaling her low round of her collegiate career

Men’s Golf
 
Concordia’s Jesse Heinly has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Heinly, a senior form Bend, Ore., made a triumphant return to the Cavaliers with a 4-stroke win at the OIT Invite last week. In three rounds of play, Heinly fired a 7-under 209 over the 7,138-yard course at the Running Y Ranch. With Heinly’s leading score, Concordia went on to post a 30-stroke team win in their first tournament of the season.
