KIRKLAND, Wash. - NU's Jessica Oliver scored in the 26th minute and that would be all the Eagles would need as they edged Trinity Lutheran, 1-0 this afternoon. It was the second win over TLC this season as NU defeated Trinity in Everett, 1-0, on Sept. 13.

Tiffany Taylor flicked the ball to Oliver at the 25:33 mark who put it in from 12 yards out as the TLC goalkeeper slipped going after the ball. NU had 20 shots, 9 shots on goal, but TLC goalkeeper keeper, Carly Moberg, kept the Eagles out of the goal with 8 saves.

In the early going, it looked liked there would be more scoring as Northwest opened pressing and had their first shot 7 seconds into the game as Jessie Oliver's shot went wide. NU had five more shots in the first 4:23 of the game, but couldn't find the mark.

Patty Hughes and Lauren Patefield each played a half in goal for NU as they shared the shutout with 2 saves a piece. Northwest (4-5) outshot the TLC Eagles (2-11-1) 20-13 to dominate the shot column.

Said NU coach Val Seid, "Our ladies started very strong with some early chances. We talked about changing the point of the attack more today anad the team was able to do it more often than in other games. I was pleased with the outcome given Trinity's speed on their attack."
