PORTLAND, Ore.—Scoring six goals in the first half alone, No. 16-ranked Concordia throttled College of Idaho 8-2 in Cascade Collegiate Conference men's soccer action on Saturday night at Tuominen Yard.

The eight goals sets a record for most scored in a single game at Tuominen yard and represents the most scored by a CU men's team since Nov. 6, 2010 when the Cavaliers toppled Corban University 9-0 in Salem, Ore.

With the win, Concordia improved to 6-2-0 on the season and 3-1-0 in CCC play while C of I fell to 1-7-0 and 1-3-0 in league action. Concordia will now embark on a stretch of four straight road matches, beginning with a matchup at Evergreen State on Oct. 1 in Olympia, Wash. On the same day, College of Idaho will host the CCC-leading Warriors from Corban (6-0-1), who represent the conference's last remaining undefeated team at 6-0-1 overall and 3-0-1 in CCC matches.

After posting back-to-back 5-0 wins in its last two outings, Concordia was able to match that total in the first 27 minutes alone despite facing monsoon-like playing conditions.

Senior Septi Danciu (Bristita, Romania/Evergreen H.S.), a day after recording his second career hat trick, played a part in the first three CU goals. Danciu assisted Ben Culpan (Auckland, New Zealand/Napier Boys H.S.) in the 6th minute and Sam Carmichael (Adelaide, Australia/Hallett Cove) in the 9th minute before adding a goal of his own in the 13th minute with a send-in from teammate Michael Chamberlain (Wailua, Hawaii/Island H.S.).

Following a Radcliffe McDougald (Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island H.S.) penalty kick conversion in the 18th minute, Chamberlain scored two goals of his own in the 27th and 36th minute to put the Cavaliers up 6-0. Danciu was credited with his third assist on Chamberlain's first score while Culpan added an assist on the second Chamberlain tally.

After taking just two shots in the first half, the Coyotes eliminated the shutout just six minutes into the second half with a goal from Tyler Lawton. A well-placed free kick from 30 yards out by Joah Cardosa allowed Lawton to get a touch from deep inside the box which dribbled just past the reach of CU goalkeeper Scott Gross (Gladstone, Ore./Gladstone H.S.).

In the 67th minute, Joseph Bolin timed a run perfectly through the CU defense and caught up to a Yan Gioseffi delivery for a 16-yard strike to make it a 6-2 contest.

Starting at the 81:44 mark, the Cavaliers rounded out the game's scoring in a 26-second span with a second penalty kick by McDougald, this time after a push inside the 18-yard box on a Concordia throw in, and Chamberlain's third goal of the night at 82:10.

Concordia outshot the Coyotes 23-to-8 and leveraged nine corner kicks against a single opportunity for C of I.
