FINAL RESULTS

MEDFORD, Ore. – For the second time this season, The College of Idaho captured the team title Tuesday by winning the Border War hosted by Oregon Tech played at Centennial Golf Club.

C of I's Baylee Borchers also overcame a four-shot deficit to capture her third straight medalist award this season with a two-day score of 9-over par 153 (81-72).

Three C of I teammates – first round leader Katherine Reed (78-77=155), Gabbie Geisbrecht (84-84=168), and Reagan Sanford (84-86-170) – rounded out the Top 5 individuals along with Corban's Brooke Spencer (79-79=158), while the Yotes' Lexi Oropeza (88-85=173) tied for sixth overall in helping C of I capture the title.

Alyssa Clements (88-85=173) was the low golfer for Oregon Tech followed by Simpson's Christina Phelps (86-89=175) and Menlo's Nichole Gedman (101-90=191) for their respective teams.

The College of Idaho captured the team title with a wire-to-wire victory, as C of I posted a 36-hole combined team score of 69-over 645 (327-318). Corban, who carded back-to-back rounds of 67-over 355 for a two-day total of 134-over 710, jumped into second place overall by overcoming a six-shot deficit to leap Simpson (349-362) in the final standings by a single stroke. Tournament-host Oregon Tech captured fourth place, as the Hustlin' Owls closed out the tournament at 176-over 752 (367-385) to finish ahead of Menlo after the Oaks did not field a full-team on Tuesday.

Overall, the Cascade Collegiate Conference took home the Border War title with the three CCC schools averaging a combined team score of 702.33 versus the California Pacific Conference squads relying on Simpson's tournament score of 711 that was not good enough to overcome the CCC's average.

The College of Idaho, Corban, and Oregon Tech all return to action on Monday & Tuesday, October 7th & 8th, at the final Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament of the fall season hosted by Warner Pacific at Glendoveer Golf Course in Portland. Both days will start with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun.
