SALEM, Ore. – Sadie Pilgeram scored a career-high of 19 points that included a 4-of-8 performance from three-point range, as Corban University extended its home winning streak to three games with a 78-58 victory over Warner Pacific College Friday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

Corban (10-8, 5-1 CCC) was aided offensively by Tara Vanweerdhuizen with 13 points, while the duo of Jade Lowery and Julia Young chipped in with eight points each. Young also had game-high eight rebounds to go along with a team-best four assists by Megan Benedict. Vanweerdhuizen provided a game-high six blocked shots, as Danielle Vanderstoel provided a season-high five blocks as well for the Warriors.

Warner Pacific (5-12, 1-5 CCC) was led offensively by Salem-native Janelle Weiss with 11 points, as Jessica Thoens chipped in with nine points and a team-high five assists.

The game started out neck-and-neck, as the Warriors and Knights kept the score fairly even throughout resulting in a 36-32 lead for the home team at halftime.

Within minutes of the second half beginning, the Warriors extended their lead at intermission keeping the Knights at least 10 points at bay for the rest of the night.

As a team, Corban combined to hit 26-of-52 (50.0%) shots from the field that included a 15-fo-25 (60.0%) performance in the second half. The Warriors were also 8-of-20 (40.0%) from the three-point line and 18-for-30 (60.0%) from the free throw line. On the other hand, Warner Pacific made 19-of-57 (33.3%) shots from the field, including 6-for-17 (35.3%) from long distance, and 14-for-19 (73.7%) at the free throw line.

Both teams returns to the court tomorrow – Saturday, January 11th – with Corban hosting Concordia and Warner Pacific traveling to Eugene to take on Northwest Christian. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at both respective sites.
