BRADENTON, Fla. – Northwest University's Joe Galbraith, the 2013 Cascade Conference's defender of the year, is heading to Florida this week to take part in the InfoSport 14th annual Pro Soccer Combine, January 7-9. It provides Galbraith an opportunity to be seen and evaluated by coaches from the MSL, USL Pro, USL/PDL and the NASL. The combine is being held at the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch in the Bradenton/Sarasota area.

The first two days is the GK Prep Camp which is specifically geared for goalkeepers. Galbraith will be training with goalkeeper coaches from teams such as: the Houston Dynamo, Sporting KC, and the Chicago Fire. They will be covering the fundamentals of goalkeeping both outside in practice sessions and in indoor classroom settings.

The following two days will include the field players who will be playing along with the goalkeepers in drill and game situations while being evaluated by a group of 14 professional coaches. On the final day, the top 40 players will be selected by the coaches to play against the U17 U.S. national team.

"This is such a great opportunity for Joe to be seen and evaluated by so many pro scouts at various levels," said NU head coach, Gary McIntosh. "It's tough to break into the professional soccer scene, but Joe has all the tools to be successful. It will just take a pro scout willing to give him a chance."
