The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period October 13-19.


Damion Flores
Men’s Cross Country
 
Eastern Oregon’s Damion Flores has been named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the week.
 
Flores, a senior from Mrytle Creek, Ore., led EOU to a first place finish in the Inland Empire Championship. As a team, the Mountaineers scored 34 points defeating University of Calgary by six points.
 
Flores placed ninth overall in a field of 120 runners.
 
Honorable mention: Garrett Kraal, NCU


Cody Guthrie
Men’s Soccer-Defensive
 
Concordia’s Cody Guthrie has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Guthrie, the team leader in minutes played this season, was a vital cog in Concordia’s two road victories last week.
 
CU’s defense limited its two foes to just nine total shots on goal in 180 minutes of action. In addition, Guthrie added an assist on the game winning goal at Northwest University.

Timur Zhividze
Men’s Soccer-Offensive
 
Timur Zhividze of Concordia has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Zhividze, a sophomore from Bobrov, Russia, scored three of Concordia's seven goals last week to help the Cavs move into sole possession of first place in the CCC standings.
 
Zhividze leas CU in goals (6) and assists (4) this season.
 
Honorable mention: Joseph Bolin, COI


Lauren McGowne
Volleyball- Offensive
 
Lauren McGowne of Southern Oregon has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
 
McGowne, a sophomore from Coos Bay, Ore., maintained her conference-leading assist averaged (11.4/set in CCC-only matches) with 69 in six sets.  She also had nine digs on the weekend.
 
Honorable mention: Dakota Adams, NU, Casey Loper, EOU

Leia Roy
Volleyball- Defensive

Northwest’s Leia Roy has been named the Red Lion Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Roy, a sophomore from Puyallup, Wash., was a solid contributor on defense in the Eagles' two wins this weekend totaling 49 digs in seven sets.
 
In addition, Roy added five service aces.
 
Honorable mention: Jaclyn Trinque, TESC 

Lila Klopfenstein
Women’s Cross Country
 
The College of Idaho’s Lila Klopfenstein has been named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.
 
A sophomore from Meridian, Idaho, Klopfenstein recorded the top finish of any non-Division I runner at the Inland Empire Challenge.
 
She recorded the fastest 5,000-meter time of her career at 17:10.
 
Honorable mention: McKenzie Evans, EOU


Kelsey Greene
Women’s Soccer- Defensive
 
Northwest’s Kelsey Greene has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Greene, a junior from Sherwood, Ore., anchored an Eagle’s defense which yielded two goals this week, NU’s first goals in eight games.
 
In addition, Greene contributed with a goal and an assist.
 
Honorable mention: Martha Heaps, CU


Acacia Johnson
Women’s Soccer- Offensive
 
Northwest’s Acacia Johnson has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Johnson, a senior from Puyallup, Wash., scored four more goals this week in helping the Eagle team win their sixth and seventh straight in CCC play.
 
Acacia scored the game winner against EOU and assisted on the game winner against the College of Idaho.
 
She now has 16 goals overall and 11 in conference to lead both categories.
 
Honorable mention: Cristal Ruvalcaba, WPC
