LA GRANDE, Ore. - The No. 25 Eastern Oregon University women's basketball team had seven players score in double figures in their, 119-43, victory over Walla Walla University. EOU shot 67.5 percent from the floor for the game.
Kassy Larson led the Mountaineers with 26 points on 13-of-16 shooting, while
Nikki Osborne followed with 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting.
Madeline Laan scored 16 points,followed by
Larissa Quintana, who added 13. Rounding out the double figure scores was Jordan Klaubeum, with 12, and
Maloree Moss and
Kelsey Hill with 10 each. Larson led the team with 13 rebounds.
The Mountaineers raced out to a fast start, and within the first five minutes of the contest held a nine point lead over Walla Walla. EOU continued to build their lead and after a
Lauren Mills layup, EOU was up by 19 points, 30-11.
EOU continued to grow their lead to, as many, as 40 points, 51-11, in the first half (comma)after an
Ashley Knight jumper. EOU was up 60-15 going into halftime.
The Wolves had no answer for the Mountaineers in the contest. After a fast break layup by
Kassy Larson, EOU found themselves ahead by 51 points, 76-25. Eastern Oregon extended their lead to as many as 81, 119-38, in the second half. EOU defeated Walla Walla, 119-43.
EOU scored 80 points in the paint and 42 fast break points.
EOU returns to the court on Sunday, Nov. 2 when they travel to Spokane, Wash. to play Gonzaga University in an exhibition contest. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
