Hunter Madich (Blue 6) helped lead the defense that held the Yotes scoreless in the second half NU Second Half Goals Defeat Yotes 10/4/2014 11:16:58 PM KIRKLAND, Wash. – Northwest University's Todd Siedenburg scored the game winner in the 52nd minute to lift the Eagles to a 3-1 Cascade Conference win over the College of Idaho this afternoon. Senior Trever Moll had the assist on the play. The teams battled to a 1-1 tie after C of I (5-5, 2-4 CCC) took a 1-0 lead with Tyler Lawton's goal at the 23:07 mark. Northwest U (8-2, 4-2 CCC) came back to tie the game at 1-all after Trever Moll (Polson, Mont.) took Taylor Young's cross in the middle of the box for the score in the 27th minute. C of I was forced to play shorthanded in the second half after a player was sent off with a red card at the end of the half. Siedenburg and Young teamed up for the capper on the game, and it was Young finishing from 7 yards out middle and off a defender after taking Siedenburg's cross from the right side with 35 seconds left in the game. Young now has 7 goals for the season and leads the league with 6 assists. Northwest U had 24 shots to 9 for the Yotes. Grant Billings played well in goal for the College of Idaho grabbing 8 saves for the day. Daniel Christenson earns the win for NU making two saves. It was a physical game with 26 fouls called, five yellow cards and one red card issued. Said NU head coach, Gary McIntosh after the game, "It was a great win for the guys today. We really came together and put in the work needed to get 3 goals. Having played a game the day before, I knew we would be tired but the guys pushed through and came out victorious. I'm proud of the way they hung in there and battled for 90 minutes."
