Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
LA GRANDE, Ore.- The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period September 29- October 5.
Matthew Clowes
Concordia’s Matthew Clowes has been named the Red Lion Men’s Cross Country Runner of the week.
Clowes, a senior from Stroke-on-Trent, England. won his second straight event last Saturday while competing in the 162-person field in the Gold Race of the Charles Bowels Invitational, hosted by Willamette University. Clowes. Covered the 8,000-meter course in 23 minutes and 56.2 seconds.

Kade Crossland
Corban’s Kade Crossland has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golf Player of the Week.
Crossland, a freshman from Buhl, Idaho fired a 2-under par (72, 68) to take individual honors at the Border War tournament, while also leading the Warrior’s to the team title.
This was Crossland’s third straight individual medalist title.

Steven Mason
Corban’s Steven Mason has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Mason, a senior from Santa Rosa, Calif., notched his fourth-straight shutout and sixth of the season in a 2-0 victory against second-place Warner Pacific College. He collected another shutout earlier in the week against first-place Concordia in a 1-0 triumph.

Taylor Young
Northwest’s Taylor Young has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Young, a senior from Bellevue, Wash., Scored a goal in each of the Eagles wins over Oregon Tech and the College of Idaho. Against COI Young was injured only to return in the second half to score the final goal of the game.
The CCC leader in assists and has 7 goals to his credit.

Emma Gasman
Southern Oregon’s Emma Gasman has been named the Red Lion Defensive Player of the Week.
Gasman, a sophomore from Clovis, Calif., recorded three solo blocks and eight assisted blocks in wins over Northwest and Evergreen.
As a team the Raiders are currently second in the NAIA in blocks per set (2.98).

Motade Atanda
Southern Oregon’s Motade Atanda has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
Atanda, a senior from San Jose, Calif., led the No. 13 ranked Raiders to victories over Northwest and Evergreen recording 31 kills with 20 against TESC.
Atanda also recorded 17 digs and three assists and four blocks on the weekend.

Alyssa Harmon
Northwest Christian’s Alyssa Harmon has been named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the week.
Harmon, a sophomore from Otis Orchards, Wash., led the No. 4 ranked Northwest Christian University women's cross country team to a second place finish at the prestigious Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational
Harmon’s time of time of 18:05 was the fastest by a Beacon this season and the tenth-fastest in school history earning her a 7
th place overall finish in a field of 160 runners.

Lynsie Furuya
Concordia’s Lynsie Furuya has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golf Player of the Week.
Furuya, a sophomore from Honolulu, Hawaii, lead the Cavaliers with a pair of 4-over 75’s at the Golfweek NCAA D II Fall Classic Invitational.
Furuya's three-round total of 230 was a seven-stroke career best.

Brittany Houghton
The College of Idaho’s Brittany Houghton has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Houghton, a freshman goalkeeper from Saratoga Springs, Utah, made 10 saves in 135 minutes in net in wins over Warner Pacific and Concordia.
Against the Cavaliers Houghton had six saves in the second half (earning a combined shutout) in the 1-0 upset of No. 1 ranked Concordia

Sydney Woods
The College of Idaho’s Sydney Woods has been named the Red Lion Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Woods, a senior from Meridian, Idaho, scored a header off a corner kick from sister Hailey Woods in what would be the game-winner in the upset of No. 1 ranked and defending NAIA champ, Concordia.
