Suelzle a Freshman on Corban Volleyball Team

LA GRANDE, Ore- Corban University volleyball player Esther Suelzle was recently diagnosed with rare cancer called Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma stage 4. The freshman, from Aumsville, Ore. went to the doctor initially for what was believed a volleyball injury suffered in August.

When the Cascade Conference schools learned about Esther's diagnoses, plans were set in motion to assist in any way possible to raise money to help with her medical bills. This week is the Cascade Conference Volleyball Championships presented by U.S. Bank. A portion of each ticket sold at the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be donated to Esther.

Over $4,000 was raised this past Saturday during the College of Idaho and Eastern Oregon football game in Caldwell.

Fans attending the volleyball championships will also have a chance to donate as hosts Concordia and Eastern Oregon will be accepting contributions. People interested in helping can also donate to Esther's GoFundMe account at http://www.gofundme.com/g7akj0.
