COLLEGE PLACE, Wash. – For the second time in two weeks, the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers women's basketball team defeated Walla Walla University, 93-38, on Sunday evening.
Early in the first half, the Wolves and Mountaineers were locked in a close battle as both teams struggled shooting the ball. The Mountaineers held a, 25-20, lead in the first half before the Mountaineers offense started to click.
Eastern Oregon closed out the first half on an 18-4 run to extend their lead to 43-24 at halftime.
The Mountaineers continued to extend their lead in the second half. EOU opened up the second half on a 17-2 run to take a 61-26 lead over the Wolves. Eastern Oregon did not let Walla Walla back into the game and won the game, 93-38.
EOU made, a season-high, 11 three pointers and shot 44.8 percent for the game. The Mountaineers dished out 31 assists and recorded 11 steals against the Wolves.
The Mountaineers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15, when they travel to Spokane, Wash. to face Whitworth University at 5 p.m.
