Four CCC Teams and Four Individuals Advance

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The field is set for the 2014 NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championships, as 37 teams and 84 individuals will compete for the national title, the national office Monday.

Headlining the competition is two-time defending national champion No. 1-ranked British Columbia. The Thunderbirds – who are the top-ranked school for the last seven editions of the 2014 NAIA Women’s Cross Country Coaches’ Top 25 Poll – come to Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan., looking to grab its third-straight national crown.

The championship is made up of 22 conferences; association of independent institutions and unaffiliated grouping champions; two conference, association of independent institutions, and unaffiliated grouping runners-ups; a host bid (Ottawa (Kan.)); and 11 at-large selections.

Biola (Calif.), Cal State San Marcos, Carroll (Mont.), College of Idaho, Indiana Tech, Indiana Wesleyan,

Oklahoma City, Oregon Tech, Southern Oregon, Texas Wesleyan and The Master's (Calif.) were the at-large selections. Each of the at-large selections was ranked in the final regular-season poll, which can be found here.

Additionally, 84 individuals will also compete at the NAIA Women’s Cross Country National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22. The women’s 5-kilometer race will begin at 10:30 a.m. CST, followed by the men’s 8-kilometer race at 11:45 a.m. CST.
