Northwest, Corban Advance to Men's Soccer Final

LA GRANDE, Ore. – The final matchup for the 2014 Cascade Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Championship presented by U.S. Bank has been set and will feature fourth-seeded Corban against second-seed Northwest.
 
Northwest advanced to the championship match after a 2-0 win over The Evergreen State College at home. Sophomore forward Jacob Weaver scored the first goal for the Eagles in the second half of play before sophomore midfielder Kyle Zimmerman added the game clenching goal in the 79th minute.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Daniel Christenson earned the shutout for Northwest totaling five saves.
 
Corban pulled off the upset defeating top seed Concordia 2-0 on the road after a late first half goal by sophomore defender Nathaniel Cheney put the Warriors ahead early. Corban’s Derik Chaney added another goal in the 90th minute to seal the victory.
 
The final match will be held at Northwest University Field in Kirkland, Wash., start time to be announced.
