WPC Shoots Past Deacons
PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific surged past New Hope Christian with a strong second half, defeating the Deacons 73-58 tonight at
Bart Valentine Court.

• The Short Story: The Knights watched the visiting Deacons step to the free throw line 16 times in the first half on the way to a 32-29 halftime lead, but recovered in the second period to win going away. WP held New Hope to 32 percent (15 o f 47) shooting for the game, while hitting 42 percent (25 of 60) themselves. Jordan Wilcox dropped in 18 points after the break, finishing with 26 points for the game.
How it Happened
• New Hope took advantage at the free throw line in the first half, making 12 of 16 attempts.
• The Deacons led 20-11 early in the game after scoring nine straight to break a 11-11 tie.
• WPC slowly closed the gap and tied the game with 23 second left on a Kasara Brandenburg putback.
• Reanna Davis send NHCC into the locker room with a three point advantage by swishing a trey at the buzzer.
• Kyeli Hendryx converted a three point play to tie the game at the 18:46 mark, then a Lindsay Loe free throw put the Knights in front for good.
• Brett Larson came off the bench to provide a spark (12 points, 10 rebounds), and combined with Loe to dominate the interior with scoring and rebounding.
• Daesha Jackson gave WP their largest lead of the game (19 points) with a pair of free throws in the final minutes.
