Four Raiders hit double figures in 69-56 win at Simpson

REDDING, California – Another balanced approach led the 21st-ranked Southern Oregon women's basketball team to its fifth straight win Tuesday night, 69-56 over the Simpson Redhawks.

Four Raiders scored more than 10 points for the fourth time in the young season, led by Kristen Schoenherr (Rainier, Wash./Rainier)'s 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists, and Autumn Durand (Onalaska, Wash./Onalaska)'s 17 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Alexi Smith (Bakersfield, Calif./Stockdale) added 14 points and six boards and Carly Meister (Elma, Wash./Elma) had 12 points, shooting a combined 11-for-16 from the field as SOU overcame 27 turnovers.

The Redhawks (0-9) got 22 points from Fallon Greenhaw. Trailing 32-25 at halftime, the game got away from them when SOU shot 14-for-24 in the second stanza.

The Raiders also defeated Simpson 101-72 in Ashland on Nov. 4.

They're 5-0 for the third time in four seasons going into this weekend's Oregon Tech Midland Empire Classic, where they'll play Friday against California Maritime and Saturday against William Jessup. Both games are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
