Adidas Team of the Week Announced
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The College of Idaho men’s basketball team has been named the Adidas Team of the Week for November. 17-23.
The Coyotes ran their record to a perfect 9-0 with wins over NAIA Division I opponents Westminster College 80-68 (OT) and Montana State University-Northern 72-50. With the wins the 2014-15 team is the first team in Yote history to start the season 9-0 surpassing the 1995-96 squad that opened up 8-0 and went on to win the NAIA D II National Championship.
Late game heroics by Sydney Donaldson helped C of I defeat the Griffins in overtime. Donaldson banked in a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into the extra frame and went on to nail three more treys in the OT period. C of I hit a perfect 5-of-5 field goals in the extra session, including four three-pointers, outscoring the No. 15 ranked team in the NAIA Division I 18-6.
Against the Lights of MSU-Northern Marko Kovacevic led the Yotes scoring 20 points and pulled down 20 rebounds. Kovacevic became the first Yote to notch a 20/20 game since the 2010 season
Scott Garson and his squad will put their unblemished record on the line tonight as they face NCAA D II Northwest Nazarene on the road.
