Red Lion Players of the Week Announced
LA GRANDE, Ore.- The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period October 27- November 2.
Eric Thompson
Men’s Basketball
Southern Oregon’s Eric Thompson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the week.
Thompson, a senior from Roseburg, Ore., went 8-for-13 from 3-point range on the weekend, totally 54 points and 19 rebounds in two games.
He scored 21 of his 29 points in the first half against Menlo, making five straight shots (with three 3-pointers) during a go-ahead 14-1 run.

Angel Guerra
Men’s Soccer-Defensive
Angel Guerra of The Evergreen State College has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Guerra, a junior from Wenatchee, Wash., recorded two more shutouts this week, giving him and the Geoducks four in a row.
Both shutouts came against teams that defeated Evergreen during the first round of CCC play.

Timur Zhividze
Men’s Soccer-Offensive
Concordia’s Timur Zhividze has been named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Zhividze, a senior from Bobrov, Russia, scored three goals and added two assists to help Concordia clinch the regular-season title and the top seed in the CCC Tournament.
Overall, he now has 12 goals and 6 assists on the season.

Jessalyn Smith
Volleyball- Defensive
Eastern Oregon’s Jessalyn Smith has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.
Smith, a senior form Boise Idaho, helped the Mountaineers to two victories on the weekend recording 44 assists including 28 against Southern Oregon.

Rachelle Chamberlain
Volleyball- Offensive
Eastern Oregon’s Rachelle Chamberlain has been named the Red Lion Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week.
Chamberlain, a sophomore from Challis, Wash., ran the Mountaineers offense to a 2-0 record this weekend. She recorded 53 assists to lead EOU to a victory over Southern Oregon, her second fourth match this season over 50 assists.

Alexi Smith
Women’s Basketball
Southern Oregon’s Alexi Smith has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the week.
Smith, a senior from Bakersfield, Calif., went 13-for-19 from the field over the weekend and posted a double-double Saturday against New Hope Christian in her return to SOU after a one-year absence.
