Adidas Team of the Week Announced
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The Northwest Christian University women’s cross country team has been named the “Adidas Teams of the Week” for Nov. 3- 9, the Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Sunday.
The No. 4-ranked Beacons captured the first conference title in school history for any sport scoring a meet-low 36 points at the Cascade Conference Championships presented by U.S. Bank.
NCU’s Alyssa Harmon, a sophomore, claimed the individual title, finishing the 5,000-meter course at Portland's Fernhill Park in 17 minutes, 44 seconds. She lead a Beacon team that saw all five scoring runners finish in the top 15 and four in the top 12 earning All-Conference honors.
NCU's Heike McNeil was tabbed as the league's Coach of the Year while Harmon was named the CCC Runner of the Year.
With the team win, NCU will advance to compete at the NAIA National Championships held at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan., on Nov. 22.
