SALEM, Ore. – Corban University head men’s soccer coach, Aaron Lewis, announced on Tuesday morning that the Warrior men’s soccer program signed three players to come and play at Corban in the fall of 2015.  This trio marks the first wave of recruits for the 2015 men’s soccer recruiting class with another announcement of recruits coming at a later date.

“The timing of this announcement, and the quality of the players within it, highlight the momentum the program currently has due to the Warriors that have contributed to the program already,” stated Lewis.  “Nic, Kyle, and Joseph are quality young men that will help fill important roles within our team culture from day one.  All three of them are immensely hungry to grow their games while investing in our program.”

Nic Farr – 6’ 1” – Defender/Midfielder/Forward – Cascade High School – Oregon

With the ability to play virtually every position on the field, Farr provides the versatility that Corban is looking for in a player.  A local standout from Turner, Ore., Farr played on the varsity soccer team all four years and collected All-League plaudits every year.  During his freshman campaign, he was named to the Honorable-Mention Team, while in his sophomore season, he collected Second-Team honors.

During his junior year, Farr was named First-Team All-League and landed on the All-State Second-Team.  He also received All-Willamette Valley Team accolades for his efforts that season.  During his 2014 fall and senior campaign, he garnered the third-most votes towards the League Player of the Year award while landing on the All-League First Team.  He then went on to be tabbed a First-Team All-State honoree.  Moreover, his team voted him MVP during his final two seasons at Cascade.

On top of his soccer skills, Farr was also a four-year Varsity Tennis player at Cascade, further demonstrating his athleticism.

At the club soccer level with the CFC Boca Juniors, Farr is a six-time State Champion and his team placed second at the Far-West Regionals in 2013 in Hawaii.

Farr intends in majoring in Pre-Physical Therapy with the hopes of one day becoming a Physical Therapist or Athletic Trainer, or even a professional soccer player one day.  Farr joins his brother Jordan, who redshirted this year due to injury, on the Warrior men’s soccer team.

“Nic can play several different positions on the field at a high level,” commented Lewis.  “He has good size and has a polished technical game coming into college.  Nic is a proven winner and comes from quality high school and club programs.”

Kyle Deeter – 5’ 9” – Midfielder – Lakeland High School – Idaho

Hailing from Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, Deeter brings a wealth of experience to the Warriors.  During his freshman year, he led his high school team to the District Championship and a fourth-place finish at the State Tournament, all while garnering the Sportsmanship award.  His sophomore year, he led the squad to a Conference Championship, and then his junior year, he guided the team to another District Title and third-place finish at State.

At the club level, Deeter qualified for the 2014 National Cup after winning the Northwest Regional Championship.  He was also a member of the Champions League for The Academy Idaho.  In addition, he was a member of the U18 Men’s Division Championship team for the 2014 Blue Mountain Exchange.

Deeter’s major is currently undecided.

“Kyle is a skillful midfielder that has the ability to create for himself, and vision and tactical awareness to make his teammates better,” said Lewis.  “He has a competitiveness and will to improve that our staff is thrilled to add to our already motivated group.”

Joseph King – 5’ 11” – Forward – Stillwater Christian School - Montana

King comes to Corban from Kalispell, Mont., where he shined on the field in an attacking role for every team he played with.  For his high school as a captain during his senior season, he was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and collected All-Conference and All-State laurels.  He was also named the All-Tournament MVP for the State Tournament.  Additionally, he earned the team MVP honors during his junior campaign.  During his senior season, King scored 36 goals and dished out 12 assists in 15 games.

On top of his high school laurels, King played on the Montana ODP State team and on the Region IV ODP Regional Team.  Moreover, with his club, the Flathead Club Premier Team, he led the squad to a State Championship en route to earning MVP honors.

King plans to major in Sports Management/Science and hopes to one day continue his soccer career professionally.

“Joe has shown the ability to score goals in abundance at the high school level,” stated Lewis.  “His work rate, athleticism, and desire to compete will aid him significantly as he transitions to the next level.”
