CLEVELAND –
British Columbia (Can.) leads the first set of Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup fall standings. The Thunderbirds have accumulated 173 total points after winning the women’s cross country title and finishing sixth in men’s cross country.
Oklahoma City currently occupies the second spot with 160 points after capturing the men’s cross country title and earning a 15
th place finish in women’s cross country.
The Warriors of
Lewis-Clark State are in third place with 157.5 points. They finished 2
nd in women’s cross country and earned a 10
th place finish in the men’s race.
Carroll is in fourth with 149 points after securing a 4
th place finish in the women’s cross country championship and finishing 9
th in men’s cross country.
Rounding out the top five is
Southern Oregon with 146 points. The Raiders placed 2
nd in men’s cross country and 18
th in women’s cross country.
In addition to Southern Oregon the Cascade Conference is well represented in the top 30. Following SOU is Oregon Tech in 14th, College of Idaho 17th, Northwest Christian 22nd, Eastern Oregon 24th and Concordia (Ore.) 30th.

Two of the six fall NAIA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles:

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports -- six women’s and six men’s.
The next NAIA fall standings will be released Thursday, December 18.
