PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific would like to forget the first ten minutes of their Cascade Conference clash with #25 ranked Oregon Tech tonight at C.C. Perry Gym.

The Basics

Score: Oregon Tech 52, Warner Pacific 47
 Records: WOIT (11-1, 1-0 CCC), WPC (5-6, 0-1 CCC)
Location: C.C. Perry Gym, Portland, Ore.
The Short Story: Oregon Tech jumped out to a 18-0 lead to start the game, then held on for the 52-47 win to open the CCC schedule. The Knights missed their first 10 shots and did not score until Lisa Chiem made a pair of free throws with 9:34 showing on the clock. The second half belonged to Warner Pacific, and the Knights closed the gap to just four points with under a minute to play. OIT kept the advantage by hitting three of four tries from the line and walked away with the five-point win.

How it Happened

• The shots were not falling for WP in the early going, and the hosts trailed 25-11 at halftime.
• Scoring was hard to come by for both teams - OIT made just 10 of 27 from the floor in the first 20 minutes.
• WP turned a switch after the break, outscoring the Owls 36-27.
• Kylie Hendryx and Lindsay Loe each tossed in seven points after halftime for WP.
• OIT's Tess Armstrong kept the visitors in front with 14 second half points and she finished with a game high 16.
• The Owls hounded Knight leading scorer Jordan Wilcox all night, holding her to eight points.
• A free throw from Loe made the score 49-45 late in the game, but the big early deficit was too much to overcome.

Notable

• WP won the rebounding battle, 39-37.
• Rayssa Lira - the shortest player on the court at 5ft 0in - led the Knights and tied for the game high with seven rebounds.
