The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period February 3  – February 9.
 
Women’s Basketball
 
College of Idaho’s Chakala Carthen has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the week.
 
Carthen, a senior from Sparks, Nev., tied a career-high with 16 rebounds and added 19 points (her CCC leading 14th double-double) in helping College of Idaho knock off #17 Eastern Oregon.

Men’s Basketball
 
Southern Oregon’s Eric Thompson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the week.
 
Thompson, a junior from Roseburg, Ore., matched a career high with 38 points against Northwest in the NAIA D2 Game of the Week. Put it away with points on five straight possessions during the second half. He's now scored 25-plus points 10 times this season, and the double-double Saturday was his fifth.

Women’s Indoor Track
 
College of Idaho’s Jasmine Hurd has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the week.
 
Hurd, a senior from Boise, Idaho, set a College of Idaho school record and placed 2nd in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles (8.90), hitting NAIA "A" qualifying mark. Hurd followed by a school-record in the 600-meters (1:38.11), hitting the NAIA "B" standard.

Men’s Indoor Track
 
Eastern Oregon’s Hans Roelle has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the week.
 
Roelle, a junior from Anchorage, Alaska, hit the NAIA “A” standard in the 600 meter run on Saturday by clocking a time of 1:20.62, to run the 600. His time in the 600 is the second fastest all-time mark at EOU. Roelle also anchored the 4x400 meter relay team that broke the school record. The relay team ran the event in a time of 3:22.59 to finish fourth. The only schools to beat EOU in the relay were three NCAA Division I schools.

Women’s Indoor Field
 
Eastern Oregon’s Tali Fagen has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the week.
 
Fagen, a sophomore from Fruitland,Idaho, hit the NAIA “A” standard in the Pole Vault as she vaulted 3.65 meters (11-11 ¾), which was the broke the school record for Pole Vault by 4 ¾ inches. Her fault of 3.65 meters is the highest Pole Vault mark in the NAIA.

Men’s Indoor Field
 
Eastern Oregon’s Travis Simpson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Simpson, a junior from Redmond, Ore., had a successful day at the Bronco Invitational as in two of his three events hit the either NAIA “A” standard or NAIA “B” standard. Simpson hit the NAIA “A” standard in the high jump this week, as he finished second place with a height of 2.05 meters (6-8 ¾). He only finished behind NCAA Division I Anthony Gregory, from Weber State, who jumped 2.15 meters. Simpson also hit the NAIA “B” standard in the triple jump as he jumped 14.03 meters (46-0 ½), which is his best jump by over one foot, which was the second best triple jump all-time at EOU. Simpson also competed in the long jump and placed fourth place and was only defeated by NCAA I athletes. He jumped. 6.56 meters (21-6 ¼).
