The following CCC student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period February 10  – February 16.
 
Women’s Basketball
 
College of Idaho’s Chakala Carthen has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the week.
 
Carthen, a senior from Sparks, Nev., recorded a pair of double-doubles in a pair of wins on the road at Northwest Christian and Corban.  She averaged 19.0 ppg and 13.0 rpg on the weekend, also adding 4.0 assists per game and 4.0 steals per game.

Men’s Basketball
 
Concordia’s Adam Herman has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the week.
 
Herman, a senior from Vancouver, Wash., averaged nearly 30 points per game in a 3-game week for the Cavaliers. Herman shot over 60 percent from the floor, including 6 of 10 attempts from 3-point range. The 30 points against Corban and 31 against Evergreen were the seventh and eighth 30-point games for the CCC Preseason Player of the Year this season.

Women’s Indoor Track
 
College of Idaho’s Hillary Holt has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the week.
 
Holt, a senior from Meridian, Idaho, had a banner close to the indoor regular-season, placing sixth in an elite field (only non-professional or BCS conference runner in race) of the mile run at the Husky Classic, recording the fastest mark in the NAIA (by 20 seconds) and crushing C of I's school record and hitting the USATF Indoor Nationals cut...followed it up by winning the 3,000-meters at the UW Open, breaking her own school record and running the 2nd-fastest time in the NAIA this season. Holt has now qualified for the NAIA Championships in the 800/mile/3000/4x400/DMR.

Men’s Indoor Track
 
Eastern Oregon’s Hans Roelle has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the week.
 
Roelle, a junior from Anchorage, Alaska, won and hit the NAIA “A” standard in the 1,000 meter run. He finished the race in a time of 2:28.81, the fastest time in the 1,000 meter run in the NAIA this season. Roelle also anchored the 4x400 meter relay team that broke the school record for the third time this season. Roelle anchored the team to a first place finish in the race.

Women’s Indoor Field
 
Eastern Oregon’s Tali Fagen has been named the Red Lion Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the week.
 
Fagen, a sophomore from Fruitland, Idaho, broke the EOU school record in Pole Vault at the Boise State Team Challenge. Fagen vaulted 3.70 meters (12-1 ½) to break her previous school record. Fagen’s height of 3.70 meters is the highest vaulted height in the NAIA this season.

Men’s Indoor Field
 
Concordia’s Darien Moore has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Moore, a junior from Bakersfield, Calif., obliterated his previous season best with a 65-10 1/2 (20.08m) launch, adding more than a foot to his earlier record. In addition, Moore claimed the NAIA's top spot in the weight throw with a 60-2 (18.34m) heave. Moore currently leads the NAIA shot put by three feet and the weight throw by a full two feet.

Softball Pitcher
 
College of Idaho’s Nickayla Skinner  has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Skinner, a senior from Mountain Home, Idaho, went 2-0 on the weekend, logging big wins against Simpson and NCAA DII Saint Martin's.  She averaged 5.5 strikeouts per game while posting a 2.50 ERA on the weekend.

Softball Player
 
Oregon Tech’s Tori Weatherford has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
 
Weatherford, a junior from Mt. Shasta, Calif., had a great weekend making her Oregon Tech debut. She had 10 hits in 21 at bats, with 13 RBI, scored 5 runs with 2-doubles and a homerun in six games.
 
Honorable mention: Rielly Byrd, CU
 
Baseball Pitcher
 
Lewis-Clark State’s Gunnar Swanson has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Swanson, a junior from Duvall, Wash., earned a quality win over NCAA D-II MSU-Billings in his first start as a Warrior.  He struck out seven while allowing just one run on three hits in 6.0 innings pitched for a 1.50 ERA.
 
Honorable mention: Harrison McGhee, CU; Mitch Viydo, C of I
 
Baseball Player
 
Concordia’s Blake Drake has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Drake, a junior from Ramona, Calif., hit .500 in three games this week during the Cavalier Classic. The team's leadoff hitter and centerfielder produced six runs while driving in three others. In addition to his strong defense, Drake added three stone bases in three attempts over the weekend.
