Carter's Double-Double Paces Corban Past New Hope

SALEM - Jordan Carter recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds and Corban scored a season-high in points in beating visiting New Hope Christian, 92-62, in a non-conference men's basketball game played Wednesday night in C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

With the victory, the Warriors improve to 8-19 overall. New Hope is 8-18 this season.

Carter was 7-for-11 from the field and 7-for-8 from the foul line and grabbed nine of his rebounds on the defensive end of the floor. He added three assists and two steals in 30 minutes of action.
Tyler Edwards drained four of his five three-point shots on his way to 17 points for Corban. Cyrus Ward had 14 points and six rebounds and Josiah Sebens added 12 points and seven boards in the victory. Toby Roth contributed game-highs of three steals and seven assists for the the Warriors.

Corban's previous season high for points came in its season-opening 91-53 victory over Portland Bible College on Nov. 5.

Corey Gantt poured in 18 points and TJ Little added 17 for New Hope, which was led in rebounding by Alexander Coleman with 10.

Corban concludes its 2013-14 season on Saturday when it hosts Northwest Christian in a Cascade College Conference contest starting at 7:30 p.m.
