Yotes Cruise Past Evergreen, 114-61
CALDWELL, Idaho – Devan Telken scored a career-high 14 points, one of six College of Idaho players in double-figures, as the No. 5 ranked Coyotes routed The Evergreen State College, 114-61, inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.
The Yotes (24-5, 15-2 CCC) extended their win streak to 11 in a row and improved to 13-0 at home this season. C of I had a season-best 72 rebounds (35 on the offensive glass) and 33 assists in the victory, as all 11 players who suited up had at least one point.
C of I broke the game open early, as both Taylor Pruett and Sydney Donaldson drained 3’s and a jumper, part of a 15-2 run that gave the Yotes a 27-11 lead. After the Geoducks (4-20, 3-14) cut the gap to 35-21, the Coyotes exploded – rattling off the next 21 points, including a pair of treys from Pruett, as the regular-season Cascade Conference champs built a 67-26 lead at the break.
Telken, who has missed the majority of the season due to injury, was the story in the second half, scoring 12 of his 14 points and grabbing seven of his nine rebounds after the break. His three-pointer with five minutes remaining put the Yotes over the 100-point plateau for the fourth time this season.
Demetrius Perkins led all scorers with 18 points, with Pruett recording 15 points and 12 rebounds in the victory. Antonio Garrett and Donaldson each had 15 points and seven rebounds; Josh Wilson had 12 points and 10 assists; with Joe Vaz scoring six points, but grabbing a team-high 13 boards.
