LA GRANDE, Ore.- The following CCC and NAIA West student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period of February 17-23.

Harrison McGhee
Baseball- Pitcher
Concordia’s Harrison Mcghee has been chosen the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week for Feb 17-23.

Mcghee, a sophomore from Ramona, Calif., tossed a dominating eight innings against Willamette, helping the Cavaliers to its second of three straight shutouts over the weekend.

McGhee fanned 10 batters and struck out two batters in three separate innings only allowed a runner in scoring position on two occasions.

Chase Miller
Baseball- Player
College of Idaho’s Chase Miller has been chosen the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week for Feb 17-23.
 
Miller, a junior from Boise, Idaho, had four multi-hit games against Whitworth, including a pair of three-hit games this week to finish with a .556 batting average.  COI went 3-1 against the NCAA D III Pirates.

Kyllian Wood
Mens Basketball

Eastern Oregon’s Kyllian Wood has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 17-23.

Wood, a senior from Springfield Ore., carried EOU past Evergreen as he scored a career high 41-points, a career high, and collected 15-rebounds. For the weekend, Wood shot 76.9 percent from the floor (20-of-26). His double-double on Saturday night was his eighth of the season.

Darien Moore
Men’s Indoor Field- Athlete
Concordia’s Darien Moore has been chosen the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Feb 17-23.Moore, a junior from Bakersfield, Calif., unleashed a 70-9 (21.56m) effort in the weight throw on Saturday to extend his national lead in the event to more than five feet.
 
Moore’s mark is ranked No. 1 in the NAIA this season.

Matthew Clowes
Men’s Indoor Track-Athlete

Concordia’s Mathew Clowes has been chosen the Red Lion Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Feb 17-23. 
Clowes, a junior from Stoke-on-Trent, England, took the national lead in his third event this weekend with a 2:24.38 in the 1,000-meter run while competing ta the Warner Pacific 50/50 on Saturday.
 
Already the NAIA leader in the mile and the 3,000, Clowes’ time converts to a 2:25.08 for more than a four-second lead over the next athlete on the NAIA performance list.

Nickayla Skinner
Softball- Pitcher

College of Idaho’s Nickayla Skinner has been chosen the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week for Feb 17-23.

Skinner, a senior from Mountain Home, Idaho, Led the Yotes to a split with a win over the University of Great Falls 7-0 before falling to British Columbia 1-9. Skinner pitched 13-innings giving up only 1-hit to UGF. Skinner recorded fourteen strikeouts and finished with a 1.08 ERA.

Breonna Bejeran
Softball- Player
Corban’s Breonna Bejeran has been chosen the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week for Feb 17-23.

Bejeran,a freshman from Ceres, Calif., hit .474 with a .895 slugging percentage to help lead the Warriors to a 3-2 record on the week. Bejeran also hit 2 home runs and had 7 RBI’s.

Allison Gida
Women’s Basketball
Southern Oregon’s Allison Gida has been chosen the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 17-23.

Gida,a senior from Ashland, Ore., helped lead the Raiders to two road victories over Warner Pacific and Concordia averaging 21-points. Against Concordia Gida tied the school record with 9 steals and had a career high 15 rebounds.

Harley McBride
 
Women’s Indoor Field- Athlete
Eastern Oregon’s Harley McBride has been chosen the Red Lion Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for Feb 17-23.

McBride, a freshman from Burbank, WA., hit the NAIA “A” standard and broke the EOU school record by an inch in the high jump. McBride cleared 1.68 meters (5-6) to finish second in the event. Behind only Charlotte Muschamp of  NCAA D I Washington State.

Christi Avery
Women’s Indoor Track-Athlete
Warner Pacific’s Christi Avery has been chosen the Red Lion Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for Feb 17-23.
 
Avery, a senior from Boise, Idaho, sprinted to a 1st place finish and an NAIA "B" standard in the 60m at the WPC 50/50 meet held at David Douglas HS. She also placed 1st in the 200m event.
