Oregon Sports Awards Postponed
LA GRANDE, Ore. – The winter blast that has had a strangle hold on the Portland metro area has caused another postponement of a major event. The Oregon Sports Awards show set to take place this evening at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. has been postponed with no reschedule date immediately set.
The finalists for the 61st annual event were announced a few weeks ago and the CCC has four representatives. Corban University and Southern Oregon University each have one finalist, while Concordia University has two. In addition the Concordia NAIA National Champion women's soccer team was to be recognized.
The hazardous conditions have caused dozens of high school and intercollegiate events to be rescheduled or cancelled. The forecast does call for warmer temperatures and a break in the winter conditions beginning Monday.
As reported earlier the CCC was forced to postpone men's and women's basketball contests that were scheduled to be at Concordia and Warner Pacific. These games have been rescheduled for 2/11 and 2/18.
