PORTLAND, Ore.—Winning four of the eight events, the Concordia throwing contingent headlined action at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open held at Eldon Fix Track over the weekend.

A total of 13 cavaliers reached the NAIA automatic entry standards in the event with junior Darien Moore (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield H.S.) set a school record with a 213-2 (64.97m) effort in the men's hammer throw.

In addition to the hammer throw, Moore led a 1-2-3-4 finish for the CU men in the shot put and the discus. Following Moore's school record in the hammer were Adam Riddle (Fox Island, Wash./Gig Harbor H.S.) (206-8), Joe Hall () (179-4) and Nate Moses (Fresno, Calif./Bullard H.S.) (175-11) with all four reaching the 'A' standard.

Moore also took top honors in the shot put with an NAIA-leading 60-6 (18.44m). Moses followed with a 54-1 1/4 toss for second place while Hall (50-0) and Lake (48-6 3/4) took third and fourth place, respectively.

Moses, meanwhile, claimed the top spot in the discus with a 189-4 (57.70m) toss which also paces the NAIA on it national leader board. Moore (171-2), Hall (158-5) and Lake (148-3 (48.23m) all reached the 'A' standard and will give CU four qualifiers in eth event at the outdoor national championships next May.

Rounding out the men's side, Stephen Walter (Harrisburg, Ore./Harrisburg H.S.) unleashed a career best 181-11 in the javelin, adding more than five feet to his previous best, but falling just shy of the NAIA provisional standard of 184-0.

Two CU women's throwers punched their ticket to nationals as Jessica Mattos (Corralitos, Calif./Aptos H.S.) earned a qualifier in the discus and Emma Buchholz (Sheridan, Ore./Sheridan H.S.) in the javelin. Mattos recorded a 146-1 (44.53m) in the discus to move into the No. 8 position on CU's all-time performance list while Buchholz cracked a 154-8 (47.15m) in the javelin for the school's No. 4 all-time mark. Teammate Annelise Wiseman placed fifth with a 126-2 (38.47m) to just miss out on the NAIA 'B' standard of 128-5.

On the track, several Cavaliers moved into the school's all-time top 10 list. For the men, Carlos Ortiz (Salem, Ore./North Salem H.S.) jumped to No. 3 in school history with a 10.92 in the 100 and Chris Zeller (Portland, Ore./Reynolds H.S.) up to No. 4 in the 200 with a 22.29. Rachel Siltman (Puyallup, Wash./Mount Rainier Lutheran H.S.) and Holly Pfaff (East Peoria, Ill./Metamora H.S.) moved into the No. 4 and No. 6 spots with times of 15.66 and 15.99 in the 100 hurdles for the women's team. Molly Scoles (Sedro-Woolley, Wash./Mt. Baker H.S.) debuted in the 400 hurdles and clocked a 1:05.70 for fourth place on CU's all-timer performance list.

The lone NAIA qualifier on the track came from Jordan Reeher (Prineville, Ore./Crook County H.S.) in the men's 400 hurdles. Reeher easily won the event with a 53.06 just off his career best of 52.57 which he set on route to earning All-American honors in 2012.

Flirting with a national qualifier in the 400 relay, the CU quartet of Ortiz, Reeher, Andre Washington and Eric Tolento covered the track in a school record 42.11. The time broke the former school record of 42.29 which was set in 2012 and fell just shy of the 41.99 'B' standard.
