Eight CCC Schools in NAIA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings
College of Idaho leads way in 8th place

CLEVELAND – Oklahoma Baptist capitalized on a strong winter sport season and finish in the lead for NAIA Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings with 598 total points. The Bison finished the winter sports by scoring in both men’s and women’s basketball.
Olivet Nazarene remains in second with 574.50 points after making it to the round of 16 in the Division II women’s basketball tournament. Lindsey Wilson is still in third place with 470.50.With 453.50 points, in fourth place is Morningside. The Mustangs advanced to the round of 8 in the Division II women’s basketball tournament and made it to the first round in the men’s tournament. Rounding out the top five is Concordia (CA) with 445.50 points.
The Golden State Athletic Conference, Mid-South Conference and the Sooner Athletic Conference each have two institutions ranked in the top 10.
Among the Cascade Conference, College of Idaho sits eighth nationally with 419.00 points. Concordia is 26th with 253.00 points while Southern Oregon is 33rd with 219.50 points. Eastern Oregon rounds out CCC schools in the top 50 with 214.00 points for 35th place. Northwest Christian is 100th with 88.00 points followed by Evergreen (140th; 38.50), Corban (146th; 25.00) and Oregon Tech (146th; 25.00).
Nine winter NAIA championships have been completed with the following institutions capturing titles: Division I women’s basketball – Oklahoma City; Division I men’s basketball – Vanguard; Division II women’s basketball – Saint Francis (IN); Division II men’s basketball – Indiana Wesleyan; women’s swimming & diving – Oklahoma Baptist; men’s swimming & diving – Oklahoma Baptist; women’s indoor track & field – Oklahoma Baptist; men’s indoor track & field – Indiana Tech; and wrestling – Grand View.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports -- six women’s and six men’s.The first NAIA spring standings will be released Thursday, May 29, 2014.
