The following CCC and NAIA West student-athletes have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period April 21  – 27.
 
Softball Pitcher
 
Oregon Tech’s Rylee Carleton has been named the Red Lion Softball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Carleton, a junior from Klamath Falls, Ore., picked up two big wins this week and a save including a 4-3 win at No. 25 Concordia on Saturday. That win clinched at least a share of the CCC regular season Championship as the Owls went 5-1. Carleton now leads the CCC in OPP Batting Average at .196 with a record of 6-0.

Softball Player
 
Concordia’s Kate Santos has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
 
Santos, a junior from Gladstone, Ore., who is the all-time school record holder in home runs, belted a pair of roundtrippers last week while helping No. 25-ranked Concordia to a 3-1 record, including a split against No. 19-ranked Oregon Tech. Santos will enter the CCC Tournament riding a 10-game hitting streak as the junior catcher collected six hits in 11 at bats last week.

Baseball Pitcher
 
Lewis-Clark State’s Ty Jackson has been named the Red Lion Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
 
Jackson, a sophomore from Kennewick, Wash., had another standout week on the mound and at the plate. He started and went six innings to pick up the win in the team's 9-0 shutout of NNU, and also led the team at the plate with two home runs, including a game-winning two-run blast against the College of Idaho.

Baseball Player
 
Lewis-Clark State’s Jake Shirley has been named the Red Lion Baseball Player of the Week.
 
Shirley, a senior from West Covina, Calif., led the Warriors to a 4-1 road trip with 12 hits, including four for extra bases. His four hits in the finale against NNU accounted for nearly half of the team's hits that day (nine), and his RBI double won it in the ninth. The leadoff man is now batting .408 on the year.

Women’s Field
 
Oregon Tech’s Kassi Conditt has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Conditt, a senior from La Pine, Ore., shattered her own school record in the shot put as she hit a personnel best of 45-10.75 (13.99) at the Mt. Hood Track and Field Festival. She now leads the conference by just under 5 feet and Ranks #9 in the NAIA.

Women’s Track
 
College of Idaho’s Jasmine Hurd has been named the Red Lion Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Hurd, a senior from Boise, Idaho, won her seconnd-straight CCC Heptathlon title with the No. 6 mark in the NAIA (4482), dominating the running events - winning the 100-hurdles in an NAIA "A" time of 14.55 (tying school record), while winning the 200 (25.64) and taking a close 2nd in the 800 (2:22.62 - which hit the CCC qualifying standard). She also set PR's in the shot put (31-2) and the javelin (99-1) and ran the anchor leg on Saturday of the 4x100 relay that set C of I's school record (47.81) and hit the NAIA "A" standard.

Men’s Field
 
College of Idaho’s Austin Basterrechea has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Basterrechea, a senior from Gooding, Idaho, won his second decathlon title in dominating fashion, winning 8-of-10 events in route to the crown. Competing in difficult conditions, won the long jump (20-7), high jump (6-4), discus (115-10), and shot put (37-9 1/2), while recording a personal best throw of 149-6 in the javelin.

Men’s Track
 
College of Idaho’s Nick Hampton has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Hampton, a senior from Eagle, Idaho, set new C of I school record and hit NAIA "A" standard with his win in the 800-meters, posting a time of 1:52.24 at the Mt. Hood Track Festival.

Women’s Golf
 
Concordia’s Sunshine Powers has been named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Powers, a senior from Medford, Ore., dominated the field at the CCC Championships last week, winning the event by 14 strokes en route to earning her second straight CCC Player of the Year honor. The individual win was the fifth of the year for Powers, a two-time NAIA All-American. With Powers at the lead, Concordia won its seventh straight CCC title. In eight tournaments this season, Powers earned medalist honors on four occasions and never placed higher than fifth. The senior holds a 77.7 strokes per round average in 22 rounds of play in 2013-14. Powers holds the CU school record with a 78.2 career scoring average (107 rounds).

Men’s Golf
 
Northwest Christian’s Tyler Falk has been named the Red Lion Men’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Falk, a senior from Springfield, Ore., won his third straight tournament, taking medalist honors at the Cascade Collegiate Conference championship to earn an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship Tournament. Trailing the leader by seven strokes heading into the final round, Falk rallied to win the event by one stroke. With 4 birdies over the final 5 holes, including a 25-yarder on 17, and another birdie on 18, the senior tied the tournament low with a 4-under 68. Falk, the CCC Player of the Year, currently ranks third in the Golfstat Individual player rankings with an adjusted stroke average of 71.62. He is in the NAIA top-five for stroke average, score vs. Par, Par-5 scoring and subpar strokes per round.
