NAMPA, Idaho – Both Sora Klopfenstein of the College of Idaho and Jessica Mattos of Concordia were double-winners on Day 1 of the Women’s Cascade Conference Track and Field Championships, presented by U.S. Bank, at the Northwest Nazarene Track.

The Lady Yotes opened a 53 points lead after the opening day over second-place Eastern Oregon, as C of I looked to win their second-straight league crown.

Klopfenstein claimed victories in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:10.10) and the 10,000-meters (37:34.52), while Mattos earned wins in both the discus (147-9 ½) and the hammer (153-6 ½).

Jasmine Hurd of C of I set a meet record with her fourth-straight conference title in the 100-meter hurdles (14.13), while anchoring the winning 4x100-meter relay (47.29) that set a Coyote school record. Also setting a meet record was C of I’s Hillary Holt, who won her fourth-straight title in the 1,500-meters (4:29.16).
