LA GRANDE, Ore. – With the 2014 spring championships completed Concordia University has captured the Cascade Collegiate Conference All-Sports Trophy.
The Cavaliers claimed league titles in men’s and women’s golf and 2
nd place in softball to finish the year with 144.75 points. Top three finishes in 3 of 5 fall championships, including the title in women’s soccer along with a 2
nd and 3
rd place in men’s and women’s track/field respectively helped propel CU to their sixth straight victory. In the runner-up spot for the sixth straight year is The College of Idaho with 139.6 points. The Yotes claimed a spring championship in women’s track/field, as well as, 1
st place league titles in men’s basketball, volleyball and women’s cross country.
Southern Oregon University, Eastern Oregon University and Corban University round out the top 5 with 129.6, 112.8 and 105.7 points respectively. SOU earned first place points in men’s track/field and cross country while the Mountaineers were 1
st in women’s basketball and 2
nd overall in volleyball and women’s track/field. The Warriors of Corban claimed the top spot in men’s soccer.
Points are based on regular season finish and are awarded for each institution sponsoring a sport. Final points and standings are determined using each institutions eight highest place finishes.
