PORTLAND, Ore.—After signing three players in February, the Concordia University volleyball team has added two additional members for its 2014 team, head coach Melanie Hambelton announced today.

Joining the Cavaliers this fall will be Sprague High School standout Lindsey Dorsey and Western Oregon University transfer Kelsie Christensen.

"I'm very excited to have signed these excellent volleyball players late in the year," Hambelton said. "The addition of Lindsey and Kelsie makes our recruiting class even stronger. I'm really excited for all of the athletes we've recruited and believe each one will contribute to make us a better team for 2014 and beyond. I can't wait to see them all take the floor in the fall."

Dorsey was a three-time letterwinner for Sprague High School and helped the Olympians to three straight Central Valley Conference Championships, including an eighth-place finish at the state championships as a senior. As an opposite, Dorsey was a two-time all-conference selection and was a 6A first-team all-state pick after collecting Central Valley Player of the Year honors.

"Lindsey is an excellent athlete who is quick off the floor, jumps well and has a very fast arm swing," Hambelton said. "Lindsey plays with a ton of enthusiasm and energy and makes those around her better. She proved to be a go-to hitter on a very tough club team this season and I'm confident she'll do great things here at CU."

Christensen played two seasons at Western Oregon University after graduating from Clackamas High School. Christensen played 32 sets for WOU as a sophomore in 2013 and registered 54 kills and a .189 attack percentage. At the high school level, Christensen was a team MVP while guiding the Cavaliers to three straight state tournament appearances, including a fifth-place result as a junior. Christensen was a first-team 6A all-state pick after earning second-team honors as a junior.

"Kelsie is a six-rotation player that has excellent serve receive skills but is also outstanding in the front row. Her ability to see the block, find holes and terminate will help to make us a better team," Hambelton said. "Kelsie also has a tough serve and knows our system very well. I'm really excited to see Kelsie in a Concordia uniform and believe that she will make a big impact for us this fall."
